When I saw the size difference between them I knew that shogun didn't have a hope and neither will any other fighter in this division. Great Genetics and talent will see Jon Jones be the greatest light hw champion in UFC history.

Totally wasted...... I couldn't believe I saw Shogun fighting.... no leg kicks, no knees, bad cardio to name few of if he rebelliously gave the title to bones.....and yes rebel to dana white and UFC or is it just me thinking like that...anyways congratulations Jon Bones Jones

Jon Jones is the most genetically gifted fighter I have seen in MMA, even more then Anderson silva. He is also smart and adapts fast, great talent. Like Basketball and a lot of other sports genetic makeup is going to play a huge role in your success as a figher as the sport matures and access to awesome trainers is available throughout the world. Jon Jones is the Usain Bolt of the MMA world.

I can't understand why Jones looked so much bigger then shogun and yet they weighed almost the same, must have low bone density or something.

Shogun looked so out of shape for that fight. I'm not saying it would have ended differently if he was not out for 10 months, but that had to have impacted him. shit, he looked exhausted halfway through round1. Jones is definitely the next Anderson Silva, not just for the light heavyweight division, but pound for pound.

I was not impressed with jones. jones cardio was awful. I see him beating rashad easily. But Machida will give him all kinds of issues. Machida is not someone you grab and throw. I see machida getting the title shot soon after the rashad fight.

sCrew gsp and SILVA!??? Screw you! Silva best p4p,and its been proven in his fights. The haters can hate, but cant truly deny the middleweight kings accomplishments, although i will say that he hasnt always acted like a champion should, but still, who in ufc has beat him? SHogun aint shit. got his ass handed to him by bones. bones is the next big thing.

shame on the ones who ever thought shogun could beat anderson. Bones toyed with him most of the fight, total beating at the hands of bones jones. I loved that backfist when he took shogund leg. Bones the next big thing next to anderson. and no,gsp will not beat anderson just watch. screw all you haters, bring the hatin to my octagon in my backyard punks

I would like to see Anderson step up to light heavyweight to fight him. I don't see many challenges for J.Jones at the moment? Rampage would give him a fight but still couldn't beat him

I was so sad to see Shogun lose i'm a huge fan of him i didn't want to believe the Jon Jones hype leading up to the fight but he's proven it for sure i give him his props but to see Shogun lose not only lose but lose in the way that he did was gut wrenching it was the most anxious I've ever been for a fight the saddest I've ever been for an MMA event unbearable hopefully he comes back stronger. oh and i hope Evans smashes Jones if he doesn't Davis,Machida will trust me on that

lol even if machida or rashad could beat him now, in the overall scheme of things, jones will inevitably end up a superior fighter. People seem to forget how much young he is. That being said, i think he could beat machida anyway. He has the length to fend off good strikers, and the wrestling to easily defend any takedowns/ get take downs. the only thing i see being a remote problem for him would be someone who is great on the ground, but he had no problem with shogun clearly.

The only person in the division that can beat Jones now would be rampage with a lucky punch, the hard part would be getting within reach of
Jones and still firing off a deadly blow. So very unlikely. Current MMA/UFC rules support fighters with builds like AS and JJ,
shorter fighers had more of a chance in pride due to some of the offensive moves being legal then which are illegal now.
In a proper street fight things would be very different.

Wow. i cannot believe that some of you think Machida could beat Jon Jones. shit, lets see if he gets past Couture before you start saying things like that. Machida is on a 2 fight losing streak(3 if you count his "so called" victory over Shogun the first time) what makes you think Machida has any chance of beating Jones? another anon here said it best: Jon Jones is the next Anderson Silva of not only the light heavyweight division, but pound for pound in the world. i am a huge Shogun fan, but Jones destroyed him with ease, as he has with all of his other opponents, and as he will with Rashad and his glass jaw. and never count out Randy Couture. people have done that for years and ended up looking like idiots.

What do you guys expect Shogun blew his knee 3 times including elbow surgeries. They take a huge toll on your body and ability. Respect to Shogun, hope he heals and comes back better!

Someone from the HW division would need to drop down to challenge Jones, I don't think JJ could really go down and AS go up a division without being put at a serious disadvantage. To the one Anon, JJ doesn't have a low bone density, he just a really small and strong midsection. This allows him to build muscle power/str in other areas and still be within the L HW requirement. Most taller fighters generally have less muscle mass and look wirey. This is where Jon Jones genetic make up is incredible.

With that being said genetics alone don't win fights you still need to train hard, have skillz and a good head on your shoulders, but I do agree that it would take a much better figher then JJ to beat him with the genetic advantage he does have.

If Machida ever gets back to his winning streak. He would be the only person giving Jones a hard time. Everyone else 1 dimensional and would get knee by Bones. Machida knows how to move in and out so good it would give Jones a hard time. Trust me folks hes probably the only guy right now who can probably beat Jones. PROBABLY!

Jones carries all his weight in his torso, look at how small his legs are. That's how he makes 205 and looks so much larger then the other 205er's.

Jon Jones is a coward, he ducked a non-prepared Chael Sonnen at the most critical time. Show's a lot on what kind of Champion he truly is.
